Do Kwon Extradition: Will The Tide Ever End

The extradition saga of Do Kwon the co-founder of Terra has been on the news for a while now with ups and downs. A few days ago the Appellate court of Montenegro annulled his extradition, it seems Terra’s co-founder will not be resting soon as there is a new move to ensure his removal to South Korea.

In the recent news, South Korea has raised the annulment matter and began getting ready for Do Kwon’s extradition. The Police Agency has joined with Interpol to move Do Kwon to South Korea.

Extradition Saga To South Africa

The National Police Agency has taken a step to work with the criminal organization known as Interpol to ensure Do Kwon’s Extradition to South Korea.

In a statement by South Korea’s National Police Agency, they mentioned that it has made a request to the Interpol National Central Secretariat of the Republic of Korea, expecting to get support at the Secretariat level.

According to a statement by Officer Lee Yong-sang”
“The Ministry of Justice’s International Criminal Division and the National Police Agency are working together to repatriate Mr. Kwon Through the International Criminal Cooperation Channel And Interpol’s International Cooperation Line respectively.”

Terra’s token LUNA isn’t a security in South Korea as the Southern District Court in Seoul decided that these tokens are not securities under the Capital Market Act.

In any case, an adjudicator in the U.S. SEC versus Terraform Labs and Do Kwon lawsuit gave a ruling that LUNA is a security. It has implications over the seriousness of discipline and detainment terms, as the U.S. desires his extradition for fraud charges.

Do Kwon’s Court Winning

The Appellate Court of Montenegro acknowledged the allure of the respondent Do Kwon, annulling the prior decision of the High Court to return the case to the first occurrence to the court for retrial and decision. Han Chang-joon, the previous CFO of Terraform Labs, has been extradited to South Korea right after being jailed for a while at the Montenegro prison.

In the meantime, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York seeks Do Kwon’s presence in the U.S. as both parties have consented to a preliminary adjournment on the 25th of March.
