Shytoshi Kusama Hints At Shiba Inu as a Fix for the CrowdStrike Mishap
Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, believes that the memecoin ecosystem could provide a solution to the recent CrowdStrike failure.
CrowdStrike, a leading U.S. cybersecurity company, experienced a global outage following an update that caused widespread disruptions to IT systems. This impacted various organizations, including emergency services, airports, and stock exchanges, due to a bug in the latest version of CrowdStrike Falcon EDR, leading to system crashes for millions of Windows users worldwide.

Kusama on a post shared on their official X account emphasized the need for a new decentralized global operating system, citing the failure as a compelling reason to shift away from centralized systems. He sees Shiba Inu’s ecosystem, powered by Web3.0 technologies, as an ideal solution in this context, advocating for a move towards higher levels of engagement, security, and innovation.
The outage also affected traditional financial institutions like Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Chase Bank, and Capital One, highlighting the vulnerability of centralized systems. However, firms operating within the crypto and Web3.0 space, such as Polygon Labs and Bybit, reported minimal impact from the outage due to their robust security measures and decentralized nature.
As a result, crypto experts are urging industries still reliant on Web2 for business operations to consider transitioning towards blockchain and digital assets like Shiba Inu as potential long-term solutions, given their inherent resilience and security features.
