Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently claimed that Ethereum has borrowed its project roadmap. This accusation came after Ethereum’s 9th anniversary celebrations, highlighting the growing competition between the two protocols.

Hoskinson referenced a post by Lefteris Karapetsas, founder of the Rotki app, which featured a picture from the Ethereum launch day. The picture excluded Hoskinson and included Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, his partner Gavin Wood, and Solidity creator Christian, among others. In response, Hoskinson stated that he left the group in June 2014 and mentioned that “…..The world has Cardano now, and Ethereum gets to borrow our roadmap. Worked out for everyone.”

The debate further delved into the comparison of Cardano and Ethereum’s performance over time, with charts being presented to support arguments. Despite Ethereum’s strong market position, the Cardano community members did not concede to Ethereum’s superior performance as pointed out by some users.

Interestingly, the debate took place as Ethereum ETFs began trading, gaining significant traction despite a price slump. A post-ETF Ethereum rally is anticipated, and all eyes are on whether Ethereum can outperform other digital assets, including Bitcoin.
On the technical front, Ethereum hit a major milestone with approximately 28.1% of the altcoin’s total supply now staked, marking an all-time-high after hitting 27% a few months ago. This reflects positive sentiment among crypto investors.
Furthermore, the increase in staked ETH led to a significant decrease in the total volume of Ethereum in centralized exchanges, confirming the network’s strong performance despite the ongoing debate with Cardano.
