Cardano Reaches Significant Network Milestone and Hints at Exciting Hydra Update

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson recently teased the ADA community with an update on the long-awaited Hydra upgrade, generating excitement within the community. In a recent X post shared, he hinted at the readiness of the Hydra Head upgrade for launch and linked to a website confirming the impending upgrade.

Hydra Project Restores Optimism

Contrary to earlier claims that Cardano had abandoned the Hydra project, Hoskinson debunked these rumours in March, attributing them to attempts to spread Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD). He emphasized that the network’s scaling protocol is actively under development and that the team remains highly productive and motivated.

Notably, the team has introduced multiple upgrades to the scaling solution, including the recent version 0.12.0 upgrade, which maintained compatibility with Cardano Node version 8.1.2 and the Mithril protocol developed by Input Output Global (IOG). Reports indicate that the team is already working on the next iteration, version 0.15.0.

In a related development, major pool operator Stake With Pride announced that Cardano Hydra will enable “God mode” on the network, triggering an uptrend in the Cardano Decentralized Finance (DeFi) Total Value Locked (TVL) metric and an increase in ADA whale accumulation.

More Updates in the Horizon

Jaromir Tesar, a Cardano enthusiast, also shared an update, noting that the protocol has reached epoch 500, with each epoch lasting for 5 days. This milestone reflects 2,500 days of continuous network operation without interruptions or restarts.

In addition to the Hydra update and epoch milestone, the Cardano ecosystem has witnessed other notable events and upgrades, including the launch of Cardano alpha v1, which marks the first step towards partner chains and aims to address vulnerability challenges faced by certain chains in preventing low-cost attacks.
