The power law, a concept commonly used to predict rotational speeds of planets and word frequency in languages, has now been applied to cryptocurrencies. According to recent analysis by Rietveld, this law has been highly accurate in forecasting Bitcoin’s price movements over the past decade and XRP’s performance in recent years.

Rietveld’s analysis relies on the concept of a log line chart, which offers insights into Bitcoin’s entire price history. It indicates that the chart’s bottom red line represents Bitcoin’s long-term support level, while the top line represents its all-time highs, offering guidance on when to buy and sell. This method, when applied to XRP, also shows a promising outlook for the asset’s future price.
Rietveld’s analysis suggests that Bitcoin’s next major peak could reach as high as $200,000 by mid-2025, aligning with historical price movements after previous halving events. Additionally, XRP could potentially soar to $50 per coin during the same period.
XRP Price 2025 Projection
Based on Rietveld’s calculations, XRP’s base case projection for mid-2025 falls within the range of $5 to $20 per coin. However, under the most optimistic scenarios using the power law, the price could touch $50. Currently, XRP trades at $0.5288, down by 1.25% over the past day, with its last all-time high price being $3.84. This means that XRP must rally by 9,355% to hit the $50 price point forecasted by the power law in less than a year.
These predictions are based on XRP’s historical trading data from 2017 and 2021, as well as broader market conditions such as Bitcoin halving and anticipated interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.
Furthermore, Rietveld emphasized that now may be the ideal time for XRP investors to consider increasing their positions. In his analysis, he shared his own profitable long positions on XRP and encouraged others to leverage opportunities using futures trading, as he sees a “perfect alignment” for a potential blowoff top for XRP next year in line with the power law’s predictions and market trends.
