Shiba Inu Lead Developer Predicts Upcoming Week To Be Game-Changing for SHIB
Shiba Inu’s lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has suggested that the upcoming week may bring significant changes to the SHIB ecosystem. This indication arose from a brief interview he conducted at the Token 2049 conference in Singapore. Kusama has also provided insights into what the community can anticipate in the forthcoming week through his posts on the X platform.
Lead Developer Stance on SHIB
The lead developer of Shiba Inu, Kusama, hinted at a potentially game-changing week for SHIB in a video interview shared by crypto enthusiast Raajeev Anand. Anand provided further insights into Kusama’s implications, suggesting that the team is planning to imminently unveil a “real use case for the Shiba Inu ecosystem.”
Although Kusama remained enigmatic regarding these use cases, they are believed to be associated with the TREAT token and the layer-3 privacy chain the team is presently developing. In Kusama’s X post about the Token 2049 event, he expressed a desire for more time at the conference but emphasized the team’s focus on “private matters,” hinting at the layer-3 network.

Kusama updated his X bio to “Preparing to #Treat the generals,” hinting at the imminent launch of the layer-3 network. Earlier this year, the team raised $12 million in funding by selling the TREAT token for the development of the layer-3 chain. While the network’s name has not been disclosed, they revealed that TREAT will serve as the utility and governance token for the new chain.
The launch of this chain will bring exciting utility to the Shiba Inu ecosystem and could further solidify SHIB’s position as one of the leading meme coins. It is worth noting that the meme coin already features the layer-2 network Shibarium, which has significantly boosted SHIB since its launch last year.
Marketing Lead Encouragement to the Community
The marketing lead of Shiba Inu, Lucie, has urged users to transition from using centralized exchanges to focusing on decentralized finance (DeFi). She emphasized that individuals serious about DeFi should consider bridging to Shibarium. Lucie advised users to transfer their tokens to the layer-2 network to benefit from low fees and fast transactions.
While highlighting the BingX crypto exchange’s failure to provide timely support to its users, Lucie stressed the significance of DeFi and encouraged crypto users to familiarize themselves with decentralized wallets and blockchain basics to enhance self-custody, citing the recent WazirX hack as an example, and advising against reliance on centralized exchanges.
