Shiba Inu and Welly Open Groundbreaking Web3 Restaurant in Naples Backed by Shibarium Blockchain
In a groundbreaking move, Shiba Inu and Welly have officially launched the world’s first Web3 restaurant in Naples, Italy. Named “Welly,” this innovative dining establishment is set to transform the fast food industry by leveraging the power of blockchain technology, particularly the Shiba Inu cryptocurrency’s Layer 2 (L2) blockchain platform known as Shibarium.
Welly’s inception marks a significant step in utilizing blockchain for restaurant operations, customer engagement, and food-based incentives. The restaurant, which initially gained attention following its soft launch last year, has evolved to embrace the potential of blockchain technology fully.

Shiba Inu lead’s Reaction towards the new development
Shytoshi Kusama, Shiba Inu’s lead developer, expressed enthusiasm for this new venture, emphasizing the transformative role Shibarium will play in Welly’s operations. Kusama stated, “We look forward to helping Welly become one of the best experiences in fast food through the ability of Shibarium to both streamline processes and incentivize every part of the fast food franchise process, connecting both franchisees and customers to the brand.”
Welly’s integration of blockchain technology extends far beyond the culinary experience. The restaurant plans to expand its operations globally through franchising, with the aim of bringing the Web3 revolution to fast food enthusiasts worldwide.

Notably, Shibarium has witnessed significant adoption since its mainnet launch on August 16, despite initial technical challenges that were resolved over a two-week period. As of the time of this report, Shibarium has processed an impressive 2,766,680 transactions, showcasing its robust capabilities as a blockchain platform.
Furthermore, data from Shibariumscan reveals that 1,246,293 wallet addresses have interacted with Shibarium, underlining the growing interest and engagement within the Shiba Inu community and the broader blockchain ecosystem.
Welly’s innovative approach to merging the fast food industry with Web3 technology is poised to reshape the culinary landscape. With plans to expand globally, this pioneering restaurant is set to serve not only delicious meals but also a taste of the future of decentralized collaboration and blockchain-based incentives.
