Ripple And SEC File A Joint Proposal TO Govern All Sealing Cases Regarding The Summary Judgement Motions, Sept 19th Is Slated For Major Revealing

Another joint proposal has recently been filed by both SEC and Ripple to govern all sealing cases regarding the upcoming summary judgement motions.

Recently, SEC and Ripple jointly filed a reply to the responses to the motions to exclude the expert testimony. As stated in the letter, they will be filed under seal until the sealing issues are briefed.

The development was shared by Attorney James K. Filan, he said:

“The parties have filed a joint proposal to governing sealing issues relating to the upcoming summary judgment motions to be filed in this case.”

Per the motion, the proposal will permit fast public access to both parties’ briefs concerning the presumption that the public should have free means to court records. In a summary judgment, the parties intend to make redactions minimal. 

As stated by the proposal, the parties proposed to confer two days later to identify redactions sought by each side following the filing under the seal of the necessary materials for summary judgment on September 13, 2022.

After this, the parties will file publicly the redacted motions regarding summary judgement on September 19th, 2022.

Ripple Community Is Happy With New Development In The Case Between Ripple And SEC

This new development of making public the limited redacted motion regarding summary judgement prompted a happy mood across the Ripple’s community as the Attorney at Hogan and Hogan Law Firm, Attorney Jeremy Hogan displayed excitement.

Attorney Jeremy stated:

“Ripple v. SEC. The endgame. It’s getting me excited (I’m weird like that),”

More also, both parties will file under seal oppositions to summary judgement motions on the 18th of October, 2022 and they will meet to identify possible redactions before filling the redacted versions publicly after four days.

However, the parties suggested filing under seal summary judgment reply briefs on November 15, 2022, and more also, both parties would meet to identify redactions sought by each side on November 17, 2022, and file publicly the redacted summary reply briefs on November 21, 2022. 

Alongside the above proposal, the parties are also proposing to file a lengthy motion to seal all materials regarding the summary judgment, as well as proposed redactions, on December 9, 2022. More also, on the 22nd of December, 2022, Ripple and SEC will file an opposition to omnibus (Big) motions to seal.

It was recently predicted that District Judge Torres will decide both the Expert Motions and the summary judgement motions at the same time – on/ or before March 31st, 2023.
