Shibarium Testnet chain ID Changed

Shiba Inu’s Shibarium developers officially changed the Chain ID of the Shibarium testnet to address circulating FUD that had erupted on the heels of speculations that the Shibarium testnet code was a copycat of the Rinia network.

Pseudonymous Unification validator Ringoshi Toitsu called public attention to the development through his Twitter handle today, sharing a snapshot of the reviewed Chain ID.

Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya dispelled these claims, noting that the only thing similar between both networks is the Chain ID, as both used 917. However, Dhairya noted that when the Chain ID was picked last year, it had not been taken.

The change in Chain ID is a necessary step to maintain the integrity of the Testnet and ensure that it remains a reliable testing environment for developers. Shiba Inu has advised developers to update their applications and tools to use the new Chain ID to avoid any issues when using the Testnet.

Shiba Inu’s community has been eagerly awaiting the launch of the Shibarium Mainnet, which is expected to offer faster transaction speeds and lower fees compared to other blockchains. The change in Chain ID for the Testnet is a positive step forward in the development of the Mainnet, and the community is excited to see what the future holds for Shiba Inu.
