This release marks the completion of primary development for on-chain governance and initiates ecosystem-driven testing and adoption. Key features of this governance node include support for Plutus v1 reference scripts and Plutus script signature support via CIP-69.

Cardano node v9 Impacts Chang Hard Fork
The milestone achieved with the introduction of the governance node is pivotal in realizing the decentralized governance proposed in the CIP-1694 proposal and sets the stage for the upcoming Chang Hard Fork upgrade.
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, has emphasized that the Chang Hard Fork is a strategic milestone in ADA’s journey towards complete community governance. Intersect has been actively preparing the necessary infrastructure for the upgrade, which is designed to implement decentralized governance within the Cardano blockchain based on the principles of the Voltaire age of Cardano’s roadmap.
The arrival of Cardano node v9.0 indicates that Cardano is prepared for the upcoming Chang Hard Fork. With the official launch of the upgrade expected in Q1 2024, anticipation is building, contributing to the recent uptrend in ADA’s price. As of now, ADA is trading at $0.3751, with a 3% growth in the past 24 hours, following an initial 5% increase.
